About

About Dr. McElhinney

As a specialist I help connect the events of one's life to facilitate a life of confidence, freedom, satisfaction, and success. I have over thirty-five years of experience providing counseling and consulting for individuals, couples, families and organizations. I have established counseling ministries in local churches in addition to providing training for lay counselors. As an Associate Professor of Psychology for over ten years, at a Florida university, I have taught, designed and developed curricula for undergraduate and graduate classes and programs. I also served as Chairman of the Psychology Department and on various committees. For nearly thirty years I continue to work with a mission agency providing consultation, counseling and assessments for missionary candidates. I lead seminars and speak at conferences both nationally and internationally. I have a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Pastoral Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity degree from Grace Theological Seminary. Personally, I have been married to my wife for over forty years and we have an adult son.

Mission and Values

MISSION:
My mission is to encourage individuals and families to think biblically and to offer genuine and lasting hope to those who struggle with difficult and tragic life experiences through teaching, counseling and consulting. My hope and desire is that you will experience the transformation and restoration that the Gospel offers to every individual.

VISION:
The Gospel applied to people’s lives will transform their heart, mind, and behavior.

PASSION:
To see hurting, distracted and broken people restored to emotional and spiritual wholeness.
To provide growth strategies to flourishing individuals, businesses and non-profits.
To encourage and help whole and restored people in their personal growth and to help them recognize the power of the ripple effect of their personal transformation.

INTENTION:
To provide various resources that will facilitate the restoration and transformation process in peoples’ lives.

CORE BELIEFS:
1. The Truth of God’s Word will set individuals free from the bondage of sin
    (John 8:32)
2. The Bible is sufficient for living a life of godliness (2 Peter 1:3-9).
3. Individuals and organizations can be radically transformed in their thoughts, behaviors, and patterns of living by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2).
4. The hope for this transformation is through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
